Getting dog to use training pad

How do I get my older dog to use the training pad? I'd hoped he could figure it out on his own, but he just pushed the pad aside...

Thank you for your question! Here's my recommendation: when your dog urinates on the floor, soak the urine up with the pad and leave it out where he can smell it. When he begins to associate his scent with the pad, it will encourage him to use it.
